Small update
Time i did a little update.....
SBA played a gig at the Purple Turtle in Camden. Loved the venue and it was a good gig. We are also playing on the 24th at "The Gaff"( used to be the kings head i think on Holloway road, just over the road from big red) which is a Thursday but i still hope that people will come out. Its been a while since I properly updated but I'm not really in the mood of going into too much detail.

In short I've had one of the best months I can think of.
It started with

battyblingtrash coming over. I then did a rather cool SBA gig in Leeds which seemed to go down really well. After the gig there was a truly awesome hotel room to go back too. Then there was three lovely weeks with the beautiful bat. A bit of Deviation and DV80's thrown in there as well.

Now Victoria has gone home I've got to admit I am rather lost :) Still got some kind of holiday/Ireland excursion to look forward to in the next couple of weeks so I should really just get on with all the stuff that I haven't done this month.

I've just messed around today and got nothing I was going to to done : / most annoyed with myself. I blame the weather :)

My parents go away for two weeks on Sat. I feel like a teenager again waiting for them to leave so I can have the house to myself...Rock n Roll!!!!

Parties....drinking.....swingball... who knows what will happen heh.

Gig last night went better than expected... rather pleased
Work tonight...... 12 hour shift but at least its GUN playing so some "word up" action I hope :)

Really nervous about the gig tomorrow night, which you all have to go to btw :P

Now Myself and Neal are sharing drumming duties its like starting again for me in terms of putting on a show. I can go on auto pilot to a certain extent with playing guitar but I've never played drums in front of people : / Its also scary playing in front of all my work mates.

On the upside its fun trying to make/ work out new ideas for stage gear. I def. have my priorities right hehe.

phone rant...
I really wish I could get over my fear of phones. It pisses me off so much that I cant seem to phone people and just sound normal when talking to them. I get all paranoid that I cant see peoples reaction and then start worrying they dont want to talk to me :)

and then Im pretty sure that people think Im sounding strange and not wanting to talk for long when really, in most cases i'd really like to talk for longer :)
It also takes me sodding hours to get the courage up to phone anyone and I usually have to write down what im going to say
Really bloody stupid :)

haven't updated in a while....
The last couple of weeks have been fairly good.

Unfortunately there hasn't been many gigs at work so its been a bit rubbish work wise.

Getting quite excited/scared about giging again. It should all be fine but now I am drumming as well as the usual its new and well scary.

Had a good night out on sat night at Darklands then the Duchess. I think from no on I'm going to steer clear of drinking at my work as although i've done nothing bad/ wrong I do talk a lot of rubbish and always feel embarrassed the next day even though i've said nothing really wrong. Also really got to watch my drinking as since I've been working most weekends my drink tolerance seems to be really low. Not good.

I cant wait until July.

battyblingtrash is coming over and there are a lot of cool things happening. Missing her a lot

Got a dentist appointment tomorrow. Although I no longer have a fear of dentists (used to really hate them as a kid) I still really don't like it and it freaks me out a bit someone playing around with my mouth :)

Its way too hot on a night at the moment..... too hot for proper bedding but too cold for just a sheet... most annoying

I have broken myself......

Went out last night to the classic rock night at work. Several £2 cocktails later and I was a wreck.:P

I've been unable to do anything useful all day and im just hoping i feel better by 10 when i start work.

Well its been a roller coaster over the last few days.

I had a brilliant weekend at my sisters wedding. It was made even more amazing because

battyblingtrash was there with who was amazing and handled my slightly odd extended family very well and looked stunning!

Yesterday was back to work. Three really good bands ROMANCE, Ulterior and white rose movement. After a dodgy soundcheck things started to fall into place. Unfortunately the gig was cut short due to "someones" beer from the rider falling on the mixing desk which blew it and the gig had to be canceled. Unhappy punters and unhappy bands to deal with. Really stressful and a horrible end to the night :/

bank holiday
I worry that there is someone who looks like me who works in the Topshop on Monks Cross....
Everytime I go in there the staff all seem to say things like "good to see you again" and talk as if I know other people who work there. Its starting to worry me. I don't want a non-me me walking around :)

Just managed to get on top of all my paperwork / statements / receipts from the last two years. Its such a pain that you are supposed to keep all this stuff for so long. This grown up lark gives me a right headache sometimes :) its so annoying sorting out stuff for being self employed.

In other news anyone in York.... SBA have a "album release warmup gig" at The Duchess on 19th June. We are supporting some very good bands and it would be great to see people there. You can get in for cheap if you have a flyer which people will be able to get hold of soon. We will be on at 8ish so you can go on and party somewhere else or stick around to see the other bands

Had an absolutely stonkingly bad nights sleep last night full of bad dreams so feeling bit tired today.

Loving the hot weather though I hope it stays this nice for my sisters wedding next weekend. Watching Black beauty on TV.. should really get off my arse and go into town. I need to find a good tie.

Watching Police Academy 2. Great film.

DIdn't have a band practice today which was probably a good thing really. Also seem to be really tired. I think last night really took it out of me. It was my first shift kinda left on my own to manage the place. Well Kinda anyway. It was all me for the gig then had a bit of help for the nightclub.

Might go to the cinema later. Not too sure what to see though.

Been reading "Gothic Interviews" by Mick Mercer. Its quite interesting. It also makes me realise I need to do some swatting up on some of the more obscure bands that I've not taken much interest in in the past :) Something else I've noticed is that every interview seems to say that fans would write to the bands saying that they likes them and things like that. It's a shame this thing seems to have died out over the years.... or maybe its just that noone likes my band hehe...... I know i've never felt the need to let a band know they are good on such a personal level as sending a letter. Perhaps I should start :P

Currently sat in a mastering studio in East London hearing tracks being mastered for the new SBA album. Its all sounding good in here. What it will sound like at home is a bit scary due to previous experiences hehe.

Getting the train back up to York tomorrow night so i'm planning to do a bit of shopping in Camden tomorrow.

Can't wait to get back to my old bed though :)

Looks like its going to be a weekend of rushing around.

Work tonight, then band practice, then work, then band practice then London to get the album mastered. Should be interesting.

Last night was a bit of a wash out. Despite some amazing cheesy rock tunes only 6 people turned up so we had to close early. I'd made a right effort as well!

Just a little heads up on some things coming up this week at work as some people might be interested....

Tonight Hatcham Social are playing the Duchess.... if anyone likes "orange juice" influenced music this might be for you. I don't really know much about them but I've heard they are rather good. ( don't kill me if you don't like them hehe )

On thursday night there is a classic rock night 10.30 until 3.30... playing anything from the Crue,Def Leopard all that kinda stuff. I didn't work the last one but it was apparently very good.

Then on Sat. there is a burlesquee night from 730 - 10.30 The Jeepers Peepers club. A first for the Duchess but it should be quite a good night. After the show the night turns into a club night which plays anything from the Human League to the Spice girls which is quite fun.

And if that wasn't enough to get you all to come out... i'll be working behind the bar at all of the events at some point so thats another reason to go ;)

........ i bet you were all up for going out until you found out i was working there hehe :P

Well, just got back from Ireland.

malice_doll and Collin. Yummy food and good people. Despite the scary lady at the next table who decided to make a scene and choke for a bit to get all the attention :)
Had an awsome BBQ on Sat then went out to a pub then ended up at the venue where mucho drinko was errmm... drunko :p
Then Sunday went to a castle and saw some "living history"....BUTTONS!!!!!!! then had a night in and saw one of the worst movies ever.

One year older, non the wiser or richer : / but on the plus side I have a beautiful girlfriend that I love lots, A job that , although doesn't pay very well, I enjoy (most of it) and i'm in a band that could do something if all goes well and we have a lot of luck so all in all I can't complain.
